Why should you fight a traffic ticket? Simply paying the fine is the same as showing up to court and pleading “guilty” because you have remitted payment to cover the fine and court costs. In addition to the guilty plea, you may also have to deal with points going on your driver’s license; which in turn, can raise your insurance rates. If you have a CDL then you can potentially have a big mess on your hands with a speeding ticket. The CDL is a part of your livelihood and any problems on your driving records could cause you problems with your employer and your ability to perform your job.

 

My experience at the Public Defender’s Office was dealing solely with city tickets where most of them resulted from traffic stops.
